Month: January 2012

Week 4 – January 22-28

January 22 - 1st Tooth!!!! You can't see it, but trust me, it's there!

January 23 - One of my hardest days ever. This picture was taken at 8am and we had already been up (me and all 3 kids!) for 2.5 hours. Hence the reason we are already playing outside. I ended up going for a long run, pushing both kids in the stroller(L was at school). People looked at me like I was crazy, but it was a sanity saver!

January 24 - My new favorite thing. Fresh yogurt with oranges and chocolate. Yummy!

January 25 - Strawberry Shortcake. (A lot of my thoughts were about food b/c I was getting to the end of my rope with Jay being away!) I treated myself at the end of the day.

January 25 - Lydia's end of the semester Henna Party!

January 27 - Daddy's Home!!!

January 28 - Starting Solid Food. Not a big hit.

Week 3 – January 15-21

I feel like I need to give full disclosure on this post. I almost feel like I’m lying only putting up pictures of our family smiling, laughing and having adventures. While we do have moments of smiling and laughing and we do have fun adventures as a family, this is not what 85% of our lives look like! If you have young kids, you will know how I feel. I really really love my kids. I can’t imagine life without them. And yet, we are in a hard stage of life. I guess that is what happens when you have an almost 4 year old, a 2.5 year old and a 6 month old (This is probably why people tell me we were a little crazy to have our kids so close together!). Please don’t think I don’t enjoy my life, I do! I am beyond blessed and have NOTHING to complain about. But I also don’t want everyone to think we have it all together because I put happy pictures on a blog. I’m finishing up a week being a single parent, and let me tell ya, it wasn’t pretty. I did A LOT of apologizing to my kids, and we watched a lot of tv. All that to say, enjoy the pictures, but let’s keep it real. 🙂

January 15 - Much needed Ice Cream - Day 2 of Jay gone!

Monday January 16 - Besties learning to play together.

Tuesday January 17 - My evenings have gotten that much easier with her on my back.

Wednesday January 18 - The kids brought me "breakfast" in bed.

Thursday January 19 - Happy 6 months Hannah!

Friday January 20 - Fondue and The Help. A REALLY great Girl's Night!

Saturday January 21 - Bath Time. (We don't have one, so we go to Auntie D's for bath time. It's a big deal!)

Week 2 – January 8-14

January 8 - Distracted by Football. Her Daddy is So Proud!

January 9 - Early morning with my Little Buddy. 5:45 am is not really acceptable!

January 10 - Sitting up practice.

January 11 - When you're learning a new language, sometimes it worth having a neighbor come over to hang out, even if the house gets trashed while you're having a conversation!

January 12 - Dress-up time with a Fun Friend

January 13 - An AMAZING package with AMAZING Coffee!

January 14 - Happy Birthday Miriam. A Green Carrot Cake. For some reason in my mind, I thought green and yellow would make orange. I must have failed colors in kindergarten!

Week 1 – January 1-7 2012

I learned 2 things this week from my 1st week of “take a picture everyday” challenge. #1 – My life is REALLY not that exciting. Then again, exciting is a relative term. If exciting means: sometimes chaotic, always different, and every often feeling like I’m a little crazy, then maybe my life IS Exciting! 🙂 #2 – A lot of my pictures are taken with my IPOD. Why you ask? Well, because, by the time I would find my camera, turn it on, and take a picture Cole could possibly be sitting on Hannah, or a very happy moment could turn into a total meltdown by an unnamed almost 4 year old. All that to say, enjoy your first installment of Parks Life! 🙂

January 1 - A glimpse of normal life around here

January 2 - "Anti-Afternoon Naps" means finishing said nap on mom while she studies.

January 3 - A much needed date night! We will definitely be visiting this restaurant again.

January 4 - AMAZING that we could spend the afternoon watching the live stream of Passion 2012. Technology is so great!

January 5 - The Shirt says it all!

January 6 - Love mornings with my buddy. He was wearing his "helmet" just like dad.

January 7 - Enjoying Starbucks at the VERY FIRST one in this country. Too bad it's 2.5 hours away from us (maybe that's actually a good thing!).

A New Year, A New Blog

So, I have a lot of goals that I want to accomplish this year, and one is to take more pictures. It has never been something I’ve been good at, but I don’t want my kids to look back and wonder what their growing up looked like because their mom never turned her camera on. SO, that is the reason for this new blog. My goal is to take a picture everyday and then once a week post them here. We’ll see how it goes!
